The expression Golden Age of Russian culture refers to the process that led the Russian people to the encounter with their identity, ignored by the imposition, for more than two centuries, of a foreign culture, an alien language, lifestyles and protocols that were totally foreign to the essence of the Russian soul.
1812, the year of the defeat by the Russian army of the invading Napoleonic force, can be considered the starting point of the beginning of this quest, which followed very different paths.
